Thank you for visiting my website. I am an immigration and globalization scholar with extensive overseas and cross-cultural experience. This website is a way to carry out part of my personal and academic philosophy of free and open access.

For a year and a half, I lived in the Netherlands where I earned my master’s degree in Globalisation, Migration and Development within the human geography department of Radboud University Nijmegen. For my master research, I spent three months in Cebu City, the Philippines interning for Oxfam Novib and with the helpful assistance of professors and students at the University of San Carlos. In both of these situations, I developed inter-cultural communications skills that I consider extremely valuable in any situation involving international participants. I have presented at the Oxfam Novib Expert Meeting on Gender and Remittances (September, 2011, The Hague) as well as guest lectures at Radboud University and the University of San Carlos (Cebu City, Philippines), proving my ability to speak in front of a variety of audiences.

I am currently searching for opportunities around the Los Angeles area in the field of asylum/refugee services; there are too many people in the world who have injustices done against them, and I would like to devote my time and energy to reducing those injustices. Please contact me if you have an opportunity in mind in which my skillset may be helpful.
